It is the worst nightmare of every modern person - losing your phone. Noone is prepared for that. However, Ausweis thought this through. Even if you happen to lose your cell phone, your locks and keys will be safe as long as you do several easy steps.

In such an emergency situation, the first thing you need to do is to find the nearest computer with Internet access. Ausweis can be easily accessed using your private account.

All you need to do is to go to your web account and change the password to your Ausweis profile. This will ensure no one but you will have access to your personal data.

Step 1:

Go to our website. You will be asked to log in to the system. Click Forgot password?

Step 2:

You will be redirected to the Password Reset screen. Enter your email address and click Reset My Password.

Step 3:

The system will send a link to the provided email.

Note: if you do not receive the email within a few minutes, please, contact support or repeat the previous actions.

Step 4:

Go to your email service provider and open an email from Ausweis entitled Password Reset E-mail. There will be a green Reset Your Password button. Click it.

Step 5:

You will be redirected back to Ausweis website where you will be able to change your password. Enter it in a field available and click Change Password. 

Congratulations! You changed your password and kept your locks and keys safe. Now someone who has your phone will not be able to open your entrances.
